Yes. Full assistance is provided by a dedicated Prolificx Support Site, and customers who purchase the Vector 300 Development Kit are allocated a defined number of support query calls.
Is remote diagnostics on the V300 series possible?
Yes. Remote diagnostics can be achieved by building the diagnostics into the customer developed application software, or alternatively by Telnet access to the GPS tracking device and then running the Prolificx provided command line applications remotely. If an FTP client is loaded on the device then full remote file transfer can also be managed over telnet.
Can I upgrade software remotely?
Yes - Application software can be updated over the air via standard IP transfer methods (FTP, UDP, http) but it is left to the individual developer as to how this is managed.
Can I use standard DOS batch files with a V300 GPS tracking device?
Yes you can use standard batch files and we have found them to be very useful for managing automatic upgrading where a batch file can be used to copy any new application programs to the correct location before running them.
